HP1βΔN has no effect on ASF1a-induced chromosome condensation. (A) WI38 cells were infected with vector control (con) or HP1βΔN-expressing virus, together with a virus encoding ASF1a, as indicated. The infected cells were selected with 3 μg/ml puromycin and 500 μg/ml G418. Ten days postinfection, the cells were stained with antibodies to HP1γ. The circles and arrow indicate HP1γ in SAHF and PML bodies, respectively.
